Another Blog Post? Why Yes, I Think I Will.

It's one in the morning and I'm sitting on the couch alone.
It's times like this that I miss my husband and regret telling him I'd be okay with him working night shifts.
I have to admit that I really don't mind it, but that doesn't mean I like it either.
The hardest is when I have to go to bed.
Some nights (like tonight) I try to put it off by staying on the computer really late or watching some kind of movie to distract myself.
Tonight I chose to make a song.
(I wanted to try singing for my little girl)
I've never been able to make a full song, only verses, so I have to say that I'm rather proud of myself.
I have made a full and complete song.
I decided to record it on garage band and I found some pretty awesome features.
I wish I knew how to work it a little better because I could get SO much more out of this than I already have!

School is still ridiculous.

The past couple days I've also been trying to get better at my crocheting skills....
They haven't improved much.
Right now I'm stuck doing the same thing back and forth.
SO..
I decided to make a little crochet blanket because that seems to be the only thing I can make!
I'd love to be able to make a dress, little baby booties, hats, little flower headbands, and so on, but I think thats in the very very distant future.

(I'd love to do things like these ^ )
(((Visit my Pinterest account for other cute ideas like this: http://pinterest.com/svanlear/things-to-make-for-my-little-girl/ )))

In a week or so I'll have a lot more time on my hands to work on all of these project that I've been wanting to try.
I can't wait!

Well I think that's it for me, I really don't have much else to talk about so I guess I better go.
I can openly admit this is not one of my better posts and I'd assume it's rather boring, but I enjoyed spilling out my words and killing some time before bed!

Goodnight!! :)

It's been a while!

I have to apologize for my absence on my blog.
I doubt there are many people that read this...
SO
I'm apologizing more to myself for depriving myself of this place to let all of my words spill out.
Everything has been extremely busy lately so I find it hard to come on and post.
Let me tell you a little bit about the past month.
Scotty and I moved into a new (cheaper thank goodness) apartment and we're loving it! Its the perfect size and I feel comfortable here.
I'm lucky to call it home.
Thanksgiving came and went, but it didn't quite seem the same this year.
(Not a great quality pic, but I'll take it!)
We got our cute little Christmas tree up, with plenty of presents underneath.
I've picked up my guitar a few more times than normal and I've enjoyed strumming away in our sun filled living room.
School is almost done.
Next week is finals week.
I really cant say that I'm happy with the outcome of school, but I can say that I am happy for the lessons I learned and the motivation I gained to do better next time.
I hate that I worked full time for the first half of the semester because that's the thing that really screwed me over!
As for work, I am officially down to working one day a week!!
I had put in my two weeks notice, but I was talked into staying....
My year mark at work is December 21st, and at that point, I can use my 70 hours of PTO.
After I get that used up, its back to my two weeks notice.
Scotty and I went in for my ultrasound appointment on November 29th and found out that our lives will be blessed with a little baby girl.
I cannot describe to you how amazing it was to see the ultrasound and see my baby moving around. I still havent been fortunate enough to feel her moving inside of me, but it's amazing to see and know that she's in there moving around.

This is my absolute most favorite picture that we received from the ultrasound.
It was so amazing to see the detail and quality of our little girls hand.
April 20th seems so far away.

Right now we're taking things one day at a time and hopefully it will all calm down in a couple weeks so that I can have time to relax!

The Blogger In Me

It has been SOOO LONG since I've been able to blog. I've missed it!
SO it is time to write another post.
A lot has happened.
Let me put this all into categories.

Moving:School:Work:Pregnancy:Family:The Rest of Life

Moving:
We are in the final stage of moving. We moved out of the house in Paul on October 31st and we've been living with my sister and her husband in their new house.
They have been the greatest hosts and we are so so grateful for them letting us stay in their house for so long!
Tomorrow we will be moving into our new apartment.
Hopefully I'll get enough time to get it all together and make it nice and homey :)
I'll get pictures as soon as I can take them!

School:
Oh dear, where do I start?
I am doing poorly in school. My grades are suffering and I feel like I don't ever have enough time to get everything done!
School really doesn't have that much time left, so I need to pick it up and do the best that I can for the last couple weeks...
Bleh...

Work:
This would normally be a bad subject....
But I have officially put in my 2 weeks notice and my last day will be the 21st or the 22nd!
Thank goodness.
Work has been driving me crazy and I'm counting down my last days.
About 5 if you were wondering :)

Pregnancy:
Pregnancy is going good.
I've been a little worried because I've only gained a pound (as of today, before today I had stayed the same weight) and I felt like being 17 weeks (in two days) I should have gained more by now! It worried me, but I figured out I should be doing pretty good.
We still don't know the gender of our baby and still don't have an appointment for an ultrasound. Apparently I have to wait for the radiation techs (or something like that) to call from the hospital and set up an appointment with me.
How annoying.
They're taking FOREVER to call!
My next appointment is on the 28th of November.
This is just a checkup.
Nothing new will be learned.
I guess pregnancy from here on out is just a waiting game.
I get morning sickness a lot less often and I am so grateful for that. I don't know about you, but I like waking up in the morning without having to throw up.
It's much more pleasant :)
I feel like I'm getting fat, but I'm pretty excited to see my belly growing. Can't wait until I get to feel it moving inside of me!

Family:
Family is doing great as always!
Jen, Jon, and Ray are happily moved into their house and getting everything settled in to call it home.
Matt just got done with harvest and is now living back in Twin, although he has come to visit. I personally think he needs to just move to Rupert, then again, what's really in Rupert other than family?
My mom and dad are doing good as well. Not much changes with them, just work work work! My dad is having an awesome time with his hawk and teaching her lots of new things. My mom has been busy as ever helping my friend out doing wedding dress modifications.
As for my family in Oregon, I've heard that they are happy and doing well.
I'm sad we won't be able to see any of them for the holidays, but we really just can't afford to put that much money into going to Oregon right now.

The Rest of Life:
As for everything else, I'm so excited for Brittaney Fanning and the fact that she's getting married Friday! I'm so excited for her. I'm going to be one of the bridesmaids as well as the photographer for the pictures I'm not supposed to be in.

I heard on the news today that Derek Walker was killed in Texas while on a mission.
I used to ride the bus with Derek when we were in Elementary school.
Watching the news video and seeing the pictures and everything really made me sad. It put into perspective today how easy it is to lose someone that we know and how that person could even be us.
We never know when we're going to die, but we need to live every day to the max and make sure that we never have any regrets.
I often get caught up in my life thinking that I'm going to have years and years to come, never knowing if I get in the car that I won't make it to where I'm going.
My heart and prayers go out to the families of Derek Walker and the two other missionaries, Elder Trevor Strong, who died at the hospital, and Elder Zachary Harris who was fortunate enough to live through the terrible accident.

Surprisingly Okay Day

Well today I went to work.
Normally when I go to work, I don't have good days. I'd like to say that I enjoy my job, but I've worked there too long and it's starting to rub off on me in a bad way.
For those of you who don't know, I work at an old folks home.
Don't get me wrong, the work that I do is very fulfilling, but when it comes down to it.. I'd rather not be there.
Today was surprisingly different. I went to work, went through my normal routine, but at the end of the day I didn't feel nearly as worn down or ready to leave.
Maybe the people were acting different, maybe the day flowed smoother, maybe I was just overall in a great mood, but whatever it was...
.....Thank you.
I think we all need those days when we can just go home from work and not look back on the day with a tiresome heart.
I keep hoping that I can quit my job and finish my school while raising our child, but I haven't been able to bring myself to put in my two weeks notice.
We had decided that I could do it on November 9th, but my boss just asked me if I would like to work nights.
This wouldn't be appealing normally, but Scotty is going to be working nights in a couple of weeks, for the next several months.
The thought of going to sleep without him makes me sad.
Yes, I would get over it.....
.....But it would be kind of nice to work the night shift because I'd be able to have the same schedule with my husband, continue to work and get an income, and not have to put as much work into my job as I do now (which is ideal when pregnant).
The downfalls are the fact that I probably wouldn't be able to stay awake all night, it would probably make me sick (ill and nauseous), and I would never have the motivation to get my homework done.
I have such a hard time with homework now. I can't find the time, the motivation, or any hint of a drive to get it done.
Maybe I should stick with putting my two weeks notice in on November 9th.
If we really needed more income, I could find something to do right?
Decisions, decisions. At least I still have 2 1/2 weeks to decide!

*On another note*
My cousin took Scotty hunting today and Scotty ended up getting his first deer!
He was so excited.
Now we'll have to decide what to do with the meat...
I'm thinking jerky and pepperoni.. Yumm... :)

Scotty's first deer! :)
